Books I need to Finish!

IMG_9417

I have such a bad issue with stopping in the middle of books that I am throughly enjoying, I have absolutely no idea why I do this to myself at all.

My Sister Rosa by Justine Larbalestier.

This book so far is brilliant, I am 150 pages in and I am loving it. It follows a 17 year old boy who just wants to move back to Australia where is his friends are but he is forced to move around the world wit his family. His biggest job is making sure his little sister doesn’t hurt anyone as he believes she is a psychopath. Its very slow burning, which I do like and the pace that we get backstory information is very suspenseful.

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige.

I am about 150 pages into this and I have put it down twice but the story is so interesting that I do want to keep reading it! This follows Amy who travels into the Wizard of Oz land, but Dorothy is a evil dictator. Fun! The Wicked Witches have to train Amy to take down the crazy Dorothy!

The Raven Boy by Maggie Steifvater.

I am 160 pages into this brilliant book. It took me forever to pick up this book in the first place but I am so annoyed I started it in my horrible book slump! This is such a unique and amazing story so far and all I hear is amazing things.

Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.

This has been a long time coming, I am on my second round of trying to read this massive book. I am such a fan of the TV series but I really want to read the series! I think the idea that this is my first massive high fantasy series I have ever tried to read is so daunting!

City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare.

I binged the frist 3 books of this series but this book fell so flat so I put it down. I should pick it back up again but I do know that the next books do get better and better. I just felt so disappointed and I was kind of sick of the two main characters, they are such complainers!

Until the next time I read A book

Beauty Fridays: Morning Skin Care Regime

IMG_9257

Happy Friday!

Lets get started with my:

Morning Skin Care Regime

Cleanser:

Mario Badescu – Enzyme Cleansing Gel
$20

I tend to use this more at night but on mornings that my face is feeling a little worse for wear I will go ahead and cleanse my skin using this one. This is very cheap but effective brand and I really need to delve more into it as it so far hasn’t broken out my skin or irritated it. It is a chemical exfoliant so it removes all my dead skin cells so it doesn’t irritate my skin and also it doesn’t dry me out either.

Garnier – Micellar Cleansing Water
$12.99

This is a the be all and end all of products. I, along with everyone else adores this product! It feels like I am rinsing my face with water but magic water that removes all the dirt and makeup from my skin! Seriously invest in this!

Josie Maran – Argan oil
$24

If my skin is extremely dry I will pop on a dash of this to help moisturise my dry patches. My only problem is I’m not sure if it irritating my skin or not. I might have to invest in some other type of oil, I’m not sure what as of yet though.

Olay – Moisturising Cream Sensitive Skin
$10

I used to use the Dr. Lewinn’s Ultra R4 cream but unfortunately it has run out and the price tag I cant justify at the moment. I do have this olay one which is slightly heavier and doing a pretty decent job. It isn’t breaking me out and pretty damn moisturising. If this one starts irritating my skin then I will be looking into a Mario Badescu one.

Mario Badescu – Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater
$10

This is yet another Mario Badescu, one day my entire skincare will just be this brand, it’s just so good! I don’t use this every day as I am not the biggest fan of the rosewater scent but when my skin needs a pick me up or is feeling extra dry I will just spray some of this on and I am set!

So thats all I do for my skin. I like to keep it as simple as possible just because of how sensitive my skin is.

Do you have any products to recommend to a dry skinned person? Or are you like me and try to keep it as simple as possible?

See you next Friday!

Top 5 Most Beautiful Books

Beautiful covers can be the main cause of me buying yet another book. I have such a bad habit of just buying a book just because of the stunning cover but you know what? Thats not always a bad thing. I like looking a beautiful things so why not show you my top 5 most beautiful books.

IMG_9358.JPG

Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone ~ Illustrated Edition
This one to me is quite obvious as it is stunning! I think anyone who owns this knows how beautiful the entire novel is! It brings even more magic into the world of Harry Potter!

The Game of Thrones History
This is an amazing, gains book which I have yet to do more than flip through and marvel at the illustrations. I might wait until I have fully read the entire series before delving into this one.

The fox and the Star
The story itself was wonderful but accompanied by some stunning illustrations just made the read enchanting.

Uprooted
I am only a little bit through this book but this was 100% a cover by, not only do I love fantasy novels I love stunning covers.

Anne of Green Gables
This is one again that was a cover buy. It was too adorable to pass up and it is in a collection so there are about 4 more classics with these beautiful covers.

Are there any covers that you adore? Let me know in the comments below!

Beauty Fridays: Every Day Makeup Routine

I have a pretty standard day to day makeup routine, you know the days where you are working 8 hour days or doing your food shop for the week. One thing I do love is the simple aspect of this look, not too heavy or too light and some simple changes like opting in for a bright lipstick or some eyeshadow can change the  entire look in an instant.

IMG_9135

Note: Not all the products I use are in this photo!

The first thing I do is prep my face. I use the Garnier Micellar Water and the 2n1 Eye Makeup Remover to get anything off that I might of missed last night. To moisturise I just use the Olay Cream for Sensitive Kkin. Next I use the Mecca Cosmetica Complextion Perfection primer, the green solution helps tone down the redness in my face.

For foundation I have a few options between the Rimmel BB Cream and the Nars Sheer Glow, I am currently running low on the Sheer Glow so I am mostly using the Revlon Colour Stay Whipped Foundation. Since I have run out of my Mac Mineralize skinfinish, I am using Maybelline’s Super Stay 24 Matte Powder.

For Bronzing I use the Stila Stay All Day Bronzer, Currently loving it. I switch between my two Nars blushes. I have the Nars Classic: Orgasm, which is falling apart and I have the Dual Intensity in Fervor. My favourite out of the two being the darker more coppery shade. My current highlighter while I am searching for a new one is The Body Shop; Blushing Daisies. It is a very shimmery light pink and it works perfectly.

After Curling my lashes I will use my trusted Perversion Mascara by Urban Decay, and for my brows I will use Bobbi Brown’s Brow Kit.  To finalise I will use the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

As you can see I don’t use eyeshadows or an eyeliner just because my eyes scare me and I am so bad at doing them. I need to figure out the tricks!

Top 5 Book Wishlist

13453659_1525319830816148_1860020341_n

I have a major book wishlist, I mean don’t we all! Like I really need to add the crazy pile of books I have already waiting for me to read! But the heart wants what the heart wants.

Here are 5 books that are on the top of my wishlist!

1. The Martian by Andy Wier.

18007564
I adored this book last year. I listened the the almost 11 hour audio book and holy mother of everything good in the world I loved it. It instantly became my favourite book of 2015. I listened to it on my excruciatingly long drive to and from work. I think I sat in the car outside my house just because I wanted to keep listening to the amazing story.
Too bad I don’t actually own it!

2. American Gods by Neil Gaiman

30165203

I have been really bad at reading Trigger Warning by Gaiman but what I have read I have loved and I know so many people who adore this book. So even though it is almost 800 pages I know I need to pick this one up soon!

3. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

23437156

I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this novel. I mean who doesn’t love a good heist story? I know I really want to jump at getting this, the only thing stopping me is the YA aspect. Can it really be that good?

4. A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

8621462

This is an illustrated novel about a boy who has a sick mother and then a monster turns up on their doorstep. It is supposed to be eerie and chilling and the illustrations are supposed to add such a great atmosphere to the story.

5. Batman: The Killing Joke by Alan Moore.

96358

This is a comic that I have been dying to pick up. They are making an R rated animated film based off of this graphic novel and I am so down for that. But first I need to read this bad boy. Although $20 for 95 pages seems so steep!

So those are some of the books that are on the top of my buy list. Have you read any of these, or are you also excited to read any of these books? Let me know in the comments below!

Until the next time I read a book

Beauty Fridays: Mecca & Target Beauty Haul

A year or so back I was blogging about beauty, how the tables have turned. I enjoyed it but I didn’t see the point when there was so many others doing the same thing. But I kind of miss it and I am still very active with reading blogs and watching youtube.

What I have decided to do is dedicate a day on this blog to write about beauty, make up and skin care. The name is in the works but for now its ‘Beauty Fridays’ (if you have a better name please let me know!) As for today I am doing a little cheeky haul that shouldn’t of happened but here we are.

IMG_9012

Ive needed some new skin care products for a while, my skin has been freaking out and there are only a few products that I find don’t break me out or dry up my skin completely. I have done some research on dry and sensitive skin and hopefully these products don’t hurt my skin which I have been trying to get in better condition.

IMG_8995

Makeup

Chi Chi – Fabulous & Flawless Foundation
Shade 2 Fair Skin With Pink Undertones.
$29.95

Now I was going to buy the L’Oreal Lumi True Match foundation  but the colours were way too orangey and it didn’t feel as moisturising as I had hoped. I did a little bit of wondering and found this beauty, the colour range is amazing it has about 25 colours from memory. it has all the undertone information which I thought was great normally I have to guess which foundation has which colour correcting.
It has vitamins A, E & B5 which cant be bad for your skin. I tested it and it felt super mastering and medium to full coverage which I am super pumped for!

Urban Decay – All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray 30ml
$23.00

This was an accident. I didn’t have any intention to buy this at all, but Mecca have this devil stands with minis in them when you’re waiting to pay and god damn! I did have a ultra mini one of these and adored it and I do not want to pay $49 for something that I won’t use every day. The 30ml will last me quite a while so even though its not great value I can justify it in my head!

Skin Care

IMG_8998.JPG

Origins – Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask 100ml.
$39.00

This was something that I actually wanted to buy. I have heard nothing but amazing things about this, one of my friends who is a beauty blogger link here, has been recommending it on her site. It is supposed to be amazingly moisturising which is what I need for my dry and patchy skin! You are supposed to use it 2-3 times a week but so many people use this as a night cream, so I will try that first and if it messes up my skin then I will cry because look at that price!

Mario Badescu – Drying Lotion 29ml
$24.00

The other product I was supposed to buy! I have been breaking out quite a lot on my chin recently and I just don’t have a spot cream at all. Again I did some research and this is one of the most recommend and affordable brands that I found. Pretty much you pop it on a spot at night and it drys up your spots to a very small manageable spot. People swear by this tiny bottle of magic, even though it smells horrible I have been dying to give it a shot!

Mario Badescu – Enzyme Cleansing Gel 236ml
$20.00

When I was talking to one of the ladies about my skin problems, she suggested because I have such sensitive skin instead of using an exfoliator with beads I should use a chemical exfoliator. She mentioned this one because their products are made for sensitive and acne prone skin, and she mentioned how all the money goes on the ingredients and not the packaging which is why its so cheap!

Makeup Tools

Chi Chi – Beauty Blender
$5.95

I know this isn’t a real beauty blender but boy do I love these and they don’t cost upwards of $20 which is crazy for a glorified makeup sponge! There are four different types I tend to go for the hourglass shape just because it is great for blending makeup! Nothing special just ended up needing one!

So that is all I bought beauty wise today. I don’t know how many hauls I will do just because this week is the only week I had some money to spend on beauty products like this. But I do have a whole bunch of other Beauty Fridays planed so I hope you are excited for that!

So until next friday
