Hello!
I have just realised that all of my time on this blog I have never done a book haul. How weird. So this month I have bought a whopping 12 books! I think I might need to go on a book buying ban, but I really don’t think that will work at all!
I am not going to go into much detail because this would be a super long post so here we go!
1. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
A book set in space told through hacked government files with AI and a zombie virus? Count me in! I did a full review of this book here!
2. The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare & others.
Magnus Bane is one of my favourite characters in The Mortal Instruments so I kind of had to pick up his short story collection!
3. My sister Rosa by Justine Larbalestier.
I only just got this yesterday but it is about a brother who knows his little sister is a psychopath and doing everything he can to stop her from hurting someone while also trying to live his own life. I am really in the mood for thrillers recently!
4. Me before you by Jojo Moyes.
A super hyped book on the internet right now. Normally not my kind of genre but the movie trailer made me cry so I was so tempted to get this book. Hopefully I will read this before I get to see the movie!
5. Dark Places by Gillian Flynn.
I was persuaded by one of my friends to get this as we both loved Gone Girl and she quite liked this one. So here I am in the middle of reading another thriller book!
6. City of Fallen Angels & 7. City of lost souls by Cassandra Clare.
I am in the middle of Fallen Angels and its so slow but I am hoping that picks up soon because I am ready for some action! Although I have spoiled Lost Souls in about 10 ways now! Whoops!
8. The Girl In 6E by A.R. Torre.
I adore this book. I am about to write a review of just how amazing this read was. A girl who has extreme bloodlust but she knows its wrong so she locks herself up in apartment 6E and does live sex shows for a living. Its not until a young girl goes missing does she leave her apartment for the first time in 3 years. Yet again another thriller that had me on the edge of my seat!
9. And Then There Where None by Agatha Christie
This is my first ever Agatha Christie book. I am really enjoying it so far, I’m five chapter in and its a faster paced novel. I mean there is a lot to fit into 250 pages so. I read this on my breaks at work so I might be able to finish this one soon!
10. Men Explain Things To Me by Rebecca Solnit
This is a collection of feminist essays and I am pumped to start reading them! There are nine in total and I have heard amazing things about this collection.
11. The Grownup by Gillian Flynn
This is a short story following a con woman who is currently posing as a psychic. She meets this women who thinks there is something in her house possessing her stepson to do demonic things. Amazing read. Highly recommend it! Full review here!
12. Young Avengers Vol 1. Style > Substance by Gillen & McKelvie.
If you want to get into a Marvel comic but don’t know where to start I would recommend this one so much. It is action packed, the art style is gorgeous and the story is great.
Let me know if you have any of these books sitting on your bookshelf!

Loving this haul!
I’ve been wanting to get Dark Places for a while now, but I’m not sure if I want to read Gillian Flynn at the moment. I have her more popular book Gone Girl on my shelf though.

If you haven’t read gone girl do that. It was one of my favourite books last year. Completely blew me away! As long as you know nothing about it the twists and turns will get you!

I bought it last year because I was in the thriller mood, but that mood has left me since the start of the year. I’ll probably get to it around the summer months but I am excited to read it because of gushes like your one 🙂

Haha well this book has started my thriller mood that I am still in! Even if you want to watch the movie because it is one of the best book to movie adaptations I have ever seen!

I can’t bring myself to read Me Before You. I feel like I’d be crying for days after that read.

Surprisingly I didn’t cry. It’s was such a good book but because I gathered the ending and was kind of spoilers do for it to me it didn’t seem to have much of an impact. I would highly recommended it though, such a good book!
